Mr. Applebaum was my scout leader back in the '80's. He was the ABSOLUTE BEST! I have very fond memories of my time in the scouts because of him.

Mr. Applebaum was my scout leader back in the '80's. He was the ABSOLUTE BEST! I have very fond memories of my time in the scouts because of him.

I'll remember Steve as a friendly and positive colleague during our time together at radio station WPGU-FM in Champaign. My deepest sympathies to his friends and family.

Steve was a good friend to us during our time in Wheeling.

We deeply mourn his passing and our hearts are with Jill and Zoe.

It is with a numbing sadness that I try to understand the sudden loss of a man so young and vital. Steve worked long and hard at life and I know he now rests in peace. My deepest condolences to his wife, daughter, and family. How does one come to terms with the loss of someone so vital and so caring?

As a old friend of the wind city z club we are sad about the news.We was a good leaderfor the club and he will be missed.Our regrets to you &your families.

We were shocked to hear of Steve's so untimely passing, and want to express our greatest sympathy to his family, friends, and the Troop 16 community. Steve gave so much effort and talent, so effectively, for so many years--and touched so many of us, that we can't begin to thank him sufficiently.
