Stewart was born in The Dalles, Oregon on June 16, 1960, and passed away June 19, 2015.
He had two brothers: Todd and Justin, both from Boise, Idaho, and five nephews and two nieces, all from Boise. Stew attended the University of Idaho for two years, majoring in the Arts & Fun!
He joined the Navy on July 1, 1979 and served six years as a Linguist on various ships and submarines. He spent two years in Spain, which he loved!
He moved to Portland on his discharge and then worked for Multnomah County for two years.
After that he started his sixteen year career at Tri-Met.
About halfway through his career he met Alfred Nieuwenhuis, whom he later married in Utrecht, The Netherlands, on October 8, 2012.
He is missed by many. Many!
