He is survived by his two sons, Stuart, Jr. (Beth) and Steve (Chris); a grandson Carlton (Amanda) and great granddaughter, Naomi. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran, he served in the Korean War and returned to Richmond after discharge. His service in combat in Korea was featured in the May 23, 2002 edition of the Herald-Progress. He married the former Margaret Thomason of Emporia, VA in November of 1953. She remained the love of his life, even after she died in March of 2012. He was a career employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia, in the Richmond, Norfolk and Roanoke offices. He was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and was proud of his affiliation with Post 9808 in Mechanicsville, VA. The family would like to thank his caregivers and staff at Atria Assisted Living, Virginia Beach. Prior to his moving into Atria in 2016, he was a longtime resident of Mechanicsville. At his request, there will be no service. He was a good man who loved his family and will be missed.
