Not sure what to say?

I am devastated to learn that Susan is gone from this life. She was one of the best people I have ever known, someone I loved, respected and admired. We were close friends in our youth and although I haven't seen her in years I think of her often; her honesty, goodness, intelligence, humor and sincerity. When she and Jake got engaged she told me that she had fallen in love with him because of his good and tender heart, and it made me love him too. I have occasionally checked on their...

My favorite way to remember Susan

I regret to say I did not have the pleasure of knowing Susan but as a fellow mother I can see the tremendous impact she has left on all the people in her life. My heart goes out to her family, husband, and children as I learn about this tragedy going into a new school year. Love and support each other as she had done for so many before. God bless you all.

My name is Jenni Goggin Welch and I knew Susan at Eden Prairie High School. Even though Susan was a year ahead of me in school, I knew her best during our days of running track and cross country together. A few years ago, we reunited via Facebook. Susan was the loveliest of girls, even back in high school when girls can be so unkind. Susan raised that bar for all of us. She was true goodness. Susan was nice to everyone; her positive outlook and her thoughtfulness were infectious. She...

I was a friend of Susan's from Williston Fitness Center and just heard the news today. I am so desperately sorry for your loss. I admired Susan so much. The way she cared for her family, her intelligence, her confidence. She was such a captivating person. I am just so sorry. With love and sorrow.

Dear Jake and the entire Bromley/Candland family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Obviously, no words can replace your Susan. Even though I haven't seen you in years, I still have you and your family in my mind daily since I heard the news. God Bless.

Susan's love of her family was very evident to me. I'd had only about 3 lengthy conversations with her, but I remember her telling me she didn't even need a shopping list at the grocery store. She had her family's favorite meals memorized. I am so sad that she is gone and I will frequently think of Susan and her family.

former students I would love to hear from you.

Susan was so unique and wonderful. I was her HS German teacher and think of her as one of the special students of my 28 years of teaching. One of the gifts she gave to anyone around her, was her sonny way of including others. Our lives touched over the years.
Now all of us, who knew her, think of her gift of human kindness and her wit as we miss her. We surely are all blessed that Susan was with us.

To the family and those who loved Susan, our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to all of you. Although you know your world will not have your "shining star" with you on this earth, you also know this time of mourning will transcend time and family will continue in God's kingdom. We have fond memories of our time in Minnesota and the Candland family is included in those memories. Susan was an influence in the lives of our girls... you were all a good influence in the lives in...
