Not sure what to say?

"Tho´ much is taken, much abides." Sue probably would´ve recognized that line from Tennyson´s poem, Ulysses. It puts me in mind of Bob and the kids. They were able to channel Sue´s wisdom and strength and resilience; and they´ve managed to push through the heartrending pain of losing her and are living life to the fullest. So rest in sweet peace, Sue. Your legacy of love endures.

Thinking of Sue on the anniversary of her death. I continue to miss her great wit, intellectual curiosity, loving friendship, and long walks together in our neighborhood. I am grateful to be in touch with Bob, Elana and her family, as we together keep Sue alive in our hearts.

Sue was a special soul who turned colleagues into friends beautifully. I had the pleasure of collaborating with her at multiple companies over 15 years; she always had original thoughts and a new perspective. I'm glad she got a little extra time, but very sad to hear that she's left us.

I left International Data Corporation in 1989 just before Sue joined but as we are both in the information discovery business we met many times over the years at KMWorld and other conferences in the USA. The very fact that her book was entitled The Answer Machine is indicative of her highly original approach to the topic and was way ahead of its time in charting the direction that information retrieval/search needed to take if it was going to be of value to organisations. I am sad to learn of Sue's passing. She was a great friend and colleague with enough insight and enthusiasm to power fifty ventures. A great teacher and listener, too. Sincere condolences.

I had the pleasure of discussing the future of search with Sue at many occasions. Sue was truly a pioneer with an exceptional mind to create structure in how we should connect the dots and think about the future. Her warm smile and sharp mind created a lot of inspiration in my own work. Sue is deeply missed.

The world has lost a truly brilliant mind. In the short time that we worked together, she taught me a ton. May her family be blessed with the strength to overcome this difficult time and heal.

I am so sad to hear of Sue’s passing. We were all very close colleagues at IDC for so many years. Sue was always so enthusiastic and loved her specialty. So sorry for your loss.
Stay well during this incredibly tough time. We will miss Sue tremendously.
All my best,
Melita Marks

I have such fond memories of Sue and Bob at their home in Framingham, swimming in the pool with our two daughters. Sue was great fun, and smart, and kind. I will miss her.
