I am so sad to learn of Dr. Martin's passing. He was one of my favorite professors at Hood College. His personality came through his teachings - he was interesting, creative, knowledgeable, and inspiring, an exceptional professor that encouraged me to do my best. From my experience, Terry Martin IS Hood College. 2003: I was a 37 year old grad student in Counseling at McDaniel . I had a 2 month old baby here in Fred and so I took advantage of the "free pass class" I could take elsewhere and import to McD. I chose the Bereavement class at Hood taught by Dana Cable and Terry Martin. I was transformed by those 2 men. I wanted to stay at Hood but could not. Terry was a mentor and friend. His legacy includes all those he taught, his work in founding both Coastal Hospice and Hospice of Frederick County, Camp Jamie and the knowledge he shared and the compassion he showed to so many students and hospice volunteers. He will be missed.

I wanted to let you know how sorry I am about Dr Martins passing. He was my professor at Hood in Thanatology and perhaps the best professor I ever had. He was not only knowledgeable in a difficult subject but so compassionate and fair with all his students.
