As of Sunday, July 23, 2017, Mr. Theodore "Ted" Vernon Duncan, 90, of Connelly Springs is rejoicing in heaven with his new body, surrounded by friends and family. Ted was born April 29, 1927 in Caldwell County to the late Lester Duncan and Emma Elizabeth Garmon Duncan. Following his time serving in the Navy he worked in maintenance at the J. Iverson Riddle Center. He was a member at Mt. Home Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wives, Frances Blanchard, Pearl Freeman Duncan, and Dorothy Calvin Duncan, brothers, Joseph Duncan, McKinley Duncan, and Ralph Duncan; and grandchildren Jimmy Dean Bryant and Aaron Guy. Survivors include, son, Michael Vernon Duncan and wife Lisa of Rutherford College; daughters, Deborah Cline and husband Boyd of Hildebran, Donna Bryant and husband Jackie of Rutherford College, and Sharon Harris of Valdese; brothers, William "Bill" Duncan and wife Ruby of Connelly Springs, Jerry Duncan of Connelly Springs, and Richard Duncan of Valdese; sisters, Jeanette, Eula Mae, Sally, Margaret, and Bertha. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Magnolia Lane Nursing Home and Burke Hospice for all the special care given to Ted during his stay. A funeral service will be held 4:00PM Tuesday July 25, 2017 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with the Rev. David Duncan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park in Morganton, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Heritage Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care at 1721 Enon Rd. Valdese, NC 28690.

I am so sorry for your lose. I always thought so much of Ted. He was a good man. I know he has been sick for a long time. I am so happy that his body has been healed. Sending prayers for every member of your family.
