Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory-Greenville, CA FD238 - Greenville Obituary

With his loving family at his side, Theodore "Ted" Milton Lacy peacefully passed from this life Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015 at his residence outside of Taylorsville, CA. Born June 8, 1925 in Winfield, Kansas to the late Weston and Carol (Lewis) Lacy, as a young child he and his family migrated west first to Idaho, later Washington and finally settling on a small farm outside of Salem, Oregon. It is here Ted as he affectionately became known graduated from high school as a member of the "Class of 1943". While attending high school Ted worked as an Orderly in the local hospital while also helping out on the local ambulance. Ted entered the military shortly out of high school where he was a Naval Aviation Cadet and attended college in Pocatello, Idaho waiting for a slot to begin his flight training. The slot finally came open and just as Ted was to solo WWII ended. He was honorably discharged and continued his education at Oregon State in Corvallis, OR before graduating from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon as a member of the "Class of 1946". While attending college and as an aviation cadet he was introduced to a pretty young lady, Gweneth Pate on her one and only blind date, and as their love for one another grew through their letter writing the couple was later united in marriage in Corvallis, Oregon on October 6, 1945. To this union of over sixty nine years two sons and daughter were born. In the fall of 1950 they sold all their furniture to travel to Southern California to study Scientology and Dianetics with L. Ron Hubbard before moving north to settle in the San Francisco Bay Area where Ted began what became a seventeen year career working as a program developer in the personnel training division of a number of companies during his career. Upon his retirement Ted and Gwen moved to the Northeastern California Community of Taylorsville from Ben Lomond, CA, some fifteen years ago. Ted enjoyed learning and operating his computer in his later life, something he did not have time to do during his working career as well as relaxing reading, especially studying spiritual self help. In passing Ted leaves his loving wife; Gweneth of Taylorsville, CA, son, Michael and his wife Carol of Taylorsville, CA, Steve Lacy of New Orleans, LA, daughter, Kathleen Lacy-Elliott and her husband Bill of La Selva Beach, CA, his precious grandchildren; Tracey, Jennifer and Jeremy along with his nine great and three great great grandchildren. Along with his parents Ted joins his sister, Virginia Prather in their eternal home. A private family celebration of Ted's life is planned. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at www.fehrmanmortuary.com.
