Theresa M. Newton, 85, of Portland, PA, passed away, Tuesday, February 20th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, PA.

Theresa was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Adam and Mary (Glougick) Gadzinski.

She was the wife of Albert W. Newton. They celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary last June.

Theresa was employed as a purchasing agent at the former Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, PA, until retiring. Prior to that, she was employed at Fredwell Industries in Easton, PA. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, and volunteering at the Portland Upper Mount Bethel Food Pantry (P.U.M.P)

She was a member of Refiner's Fire Ministry in Portland, PA.

In addition to her husband, Albert, Theresa is survived by three sons, Thomas Riley, husband of Antonia Gabrielli Riley, Craig Newton, husband of Stacy, and Jason Newton and his companion Annetta Gassenheimer, 2 grandchildren Carrie Hunnicutt and William Ackerman, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons Michael and Abraham Riley and 8 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 26th at the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA with Pastor Phil Karaseiwicz officiating. Family and friends are invited to call 10 to 11 AM on Monday, February 26th in the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Refiner's Fire Ministry, Portland, PA 18351.
