Not sure what to say?

Jamie, Lisa, and families,

I wish I could offer significant words to comfort you at this very difficult time. I didn't have the fortune of meeting Tim, but he sounds like someone I would have enjoyed immensely. As a fellow nurse and long-time EMT, our community has lost one of its great providers and mentors. My thoughts are with you and your families.

Dear Jamie,
You mentioned to me about collecting memories of your Dad. Here are some of mine:

Louisiana lost two Katrina heroes this week. Lt. Gen. Honore who retired from the Army, and Thomas Patrick Butcher, Jr. RN, BSN, MPH, REMT-P. AKA Tim Butcher, all-round good person.
His moving obituary told about the outstanding person he was and how he lived his life. It told about his impressive career in the fields of emergency and disaster preparedness, paramedic and emergency...

Tim left big shoes to fill, literally. He will be remembered for his amazing teaching skills including the ability to simplify the complex AND deliver it humorously and meaningfully. Those of us in staff development and emergency medicine will certainly hold him in esteem for his significant contributions to the nursing & pre-hospital professions.
"Nurse Pam" Pourciau

I knew Tim years ago before he was a nurse; I am deeply saddened to hear of his death. What a loss. I wish I could be there to honor his passing, and I send condolences to his family and friends back home.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Dearest Couzans,

It was with deep regret that I read Tom's message to me concerning Tim's passing. Know that our hearts go out to you and our prayers will continue for you.

I want you to know that my life was blessed by knowing Tim at UMC. He was a generous, thoughtful, professional who always showed compassion for others.

Please accept my condolences. I worked with Tim in the ER (1980's) and reconnected with him after the storm when he introduced me to Trauma First Aid. Holding Tim in Love & Light with gratitude.

My sincere condolences to the Butcher family. My prayers are with you.
