Thomas W. Chadwick

We first met a smilely Tom at the time of his marriage to my sister Ann, September, 1981. It was obvious he was thrilled at the prospect of spending the rest of his life with this "lovely lady." In following visits and in phone conversations over the years, he never failed to express his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of our family. We were thankful to him for his hospitality and the generosity he extended to us over the years. We will miss him.

My family and I have been blessed to have known Tom Chadwick for many years as a Trustee, friend, mentor of good behavior, and a dispenser of sympathy, cheer, wisdom and wit. It was an honor to be asked to particapate in his funeral service and a privilege to have known a man of such high caliber. He will be missed greatly by the Sherick, Mow and Mainwaring families.

I have known my dear friend, Tom, for over 50 years. During that time, we met frequently for lunch and on other occasions. Our political beliefs happened to coincide and we followed both South Carolina and national events avidly. Dependable, honest, trustworthy and caring are just a few or the words that describe Tom Chadwick. I will miss him greatly.

I remember Mr. Chadwick as being an excellent parent to my good buddy Carlton. He was an excellent cook , mastering the "Chaddy Hamburger" in which the entire neighborhood feasted on from time to time. in addition, Mr. chadwick was a good conservationist and always had interesting stories. I knew Tom as am member of St. James of which he was a founding member and active in many of its organizations. He was loved and respected by all that knew him. I will keep him and Ann in my thoughts and prayers.

Tom was my first boss in the USPS in the mid-1970s. He was a skilled negotiator and always a gentleman. May he rest in peace.
