Not sure what to say?

Father Coffey was the head of St. Rose in Freehold for the 8 years I was there. I think he was promoted toward the end of my "tenure." He was such a nice man and very helpful and understanding when my parents went through a divorce.

Only good memories of Father Coffey...one of my religion teachers at Notre Dame..He will be remembered as a quiet, gentle man.

I've often wondered if Msgr. Coffey ever knew of the cute little slogan we as grammar school children came up with during the time he was stationed at St. Anthony's. We were blessed to have Msgr. Mc Corristin, Msgr. Toomey, Fr. Dailey and Msgr. Coffey all there at the same time. So as little kids we came up with the line "Msgr. serves Coffey Toomey Daily".

It has been a privilege to know Msgr. Coffey as a child and as a teen-ager at Notre Dame. He was a kind man and a gentle...

THANK YOU FATHER - AS A TEEN IN ST ANTHONY'S PARRISH IN THE 50'S, YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE FOR ME. A FINE GENTLEMEN AND A GREAT MAN. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE IN JESUS' ARMS
SEMPER FI!

Father Coffee remains an enduring memory of my Notre Dame experience. In his quiet way, he demonstrated a confidence that inspired me to achieve things I at first thought to be out of reach. His strong faith in the church set the standard I still use today in my own life. This sweet man will be missed by so many.

He was always one of the underestimated, a quiet strength. His patience was endless and he had a calm about him, a sense of peace, that let him deal with all sorts of people. He was a valuable part of Notre Dame when I was there, and it was a grace to have known him.

My sympathy for the lost of a great person and priest. He will always be remembered by me and all of the students that attended Notre Dame High. May God bless him.

Father Coffey was a very vibrant part of the St. Anthony community and will always remain a very special part of my childhood memories. It was my great fortune to encounter him again during my four years at Notre Dame, and in more recent years in Lawrenceville, where my mom was in residence at St. Joseph's--we had the chance to reminisce. I will never forget Father "Tea and Coffee", a truly inspiring man.

It is because of Father Coffey's presence and spiritually as a parish priest at Saint Anthony's and my guidance counselor at Notre Dame that I am a member of the Society of Jesus (Jesuit). He is truly one soul that is walking with the Lord.
