Thomas Gregory Crittendon (Tommy), born August 9, 1958, to the late Randolph and Betty Crittendon, died on September 9, 2010 at McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond, Va. God saw that he was tired and took him home.

Tommy was baptized at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church-Dinwiddie, Blackstone, Virginia. He attended school in Dinwiddie County and obtained his diploma from Dinwiddie High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served his country for eight years where he received an honorable discharge. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Betty Crittendon, his sister Shirley J. Hawkins, and his niece Darlene D. Crittendon.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Ruth Janice Matthews Crittendon; a devoted step-daughter, Tonya D. Matthews, Tremaine D. Walker; one step son, Thomas D. Walker; brothers, Walter Crittendon (late Eva), Joseph Crittendon (Jeanette); sisters Carolyn Smith (Harry), Bonnie Crittendon-Powell (Kenneth) Sylvia Crittendon-Lockley (Ronald); aunts, Rachel Wyatt, Dorothy Moore, Bessie Stokes, Catherine Moore, Dot Moore; three uncles, the Rev.
