Not sure what to say?

I flew with Tom many times at Midway Airlines. He was a skilled pilot and very professional, and at the same time, easy going a with a sense of humor, the kind of pilot and person you loved to work with. I considered him a good friend and someone I admired.
The last time I flew with him was 2 days after 9/11 and one day after Midway Airlines shut down. We flew a B-737 that was stranded in NYC back to Raleigh. After our return, Tom invited me to stay at his home for the night since...

Nadine, Brent, Joy, Allison and Grandma Gillespie, my heart aches deaply for your loss. Tom was a true hero, an inspiration as a father and grandfather and a man whom I respected deeply. For the short time I was a part of your family, Tom treated me as if I was his own son and for that I am forever grateful. I am a better person for having had the priveledge of knowing him. I only hope you all rejoice in his life and find comfort in his death. May you rest in peace Thomas Gillespie...

Dear Gillespie family,

May God's blessed grace uphold you and sustain you all during this time. Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow, but this I can say...Tom has left a wonderful legacy behind and God has provided a wonderful life with Him. I keep you in my prayers.

With much Aloha, Karen Scholtz (Allen's mom)

John 10:27-29 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will...

Nadine, After visiting with you and your lovely family on Saturday, I realize what a wonderful person Tom was. I never knew him but now I feel that I do. He certainly had a full and giving life. It was so nice to finally meet him. God's love and the love of friends and family will help you through this sad time. Tom is with God and we will see him at a later time. All my love, Evelyn Stevens

Dear Nadine,

Comfort and blessings to you all. While I didn't have the chance to get to know Tom, the pictures here show him to be one fun, cool guy, a great dad. I am sure that he is safe in your heart and the hearts of your larger family.

Dear Joy and Nadine,

I just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you cope with the loss of your father, your husband. While I did not know Tom, he must have been quite a wonderful fellow as you both were always so dear and kind. May the good memories sustain you at this difficult time.
