THOMAS J. GOLA

Although Tom was two years ahead of me at La Salle College, I spent many afternoons, at the gym just observing Tom do his thing. My greatest College memories involved watching Tom win the NCAA Championship in 1954. May you rest in peace Tom you were a good man.

I FIRST MET TOM WHEN I STAYED AT HIS MOTHERS HOUSE DURING THE SUMMER. FIRST ECOUNTER WAS WHEN HE CAME RUNNING DOWN THE BOARDWALK AND SAW ME WALKING WITH HIS THEN GIRLFRIEND CAROLINE. Met Tom when I worked in Sandy Run Country Club's pro shop, Tom was a member. I was 14 years old and Tom would come over and buy soda for all the neighborhood kids, he seemed more comfortable playing basketball with us behind the pro shop than sitting in the clubhouse. We had a basket hung on a tree with no net, naturally, we were always in awe of Tom but he was the, "Saint"....He would open the side door of Convention Hall where the Warriors played and let the kid's from Sandy Run into the...

I first met tom in 1984. The waltham Massachusetts police department held a celebrity golf tournament every summer to raise money for cystic fibrosis. I am a police officer with the waltham police department.Tom and Caroline attended a couple of these events. I was in tom's foursome and was his driver for 2 years. What an honor it was to get to know tom. I have a picture with tom and I that I keep behind my bar at home that I will always treasure. I will never forget those 2 years with tom....
