Not sure what to say?

Tom was a great human being. I remember fondly our hike in the Grand Canyon so many years ago; but it seems like yesterday.
He and his kindness are missed.

It's hard to believe it's been a year since you've been gone. God bless you and your wife. Forever together.

My Uncle Tom was a true mensch. Anyone who expressed interest in joining his adventures in the National Parks was welcome and fully embraced by Tom and his Core Group, without regard to matters such as age or prior experience. Tom Harty shared his enthusiasm for life, his love of hiking and the incomparable Grand Canyon, his essential kindness, intelligence and bountiful spirit with all who entered his realm. Those who knew or walked with him, however long or briefly, will never forget him.

I just heard about this today. I am so deeply sad. Tom Harty was a friend of mine. He would come by my place of work every two weeks selling his wares and charming all that met him. He was honest, kind, generous, loving, smart, lover of life, and wonderful. He and Joanne came to my 50th birthday celebration a few years back. I am so sad. Tom inspired all of us with his hiking and activity into his 90's. My condolences to his children, Joanne and his many many friends. RIP AND Tom please KNOW...

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

It has always and will always remain one of my most fond memories reserving Tom Harty's family trips into the Grand Canyon. He was such an inspiration to me and many others. I pray you will all continue to hike in his memory. God Bless you all!!!

Your dad was a rock as we grew up in scouts. With his leadership we had the opportunity to do so many things, camping, swimming, traveling to see 2 Worlds Fairs and so much more. He was truly a one of a kind. May we all smile and remember the good times, there were so many. R.I.P. Mr. Harty.

Dear Don, Becky, Laura & Sam - I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to the entire family. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love and hugs. Julie

I had the great pleasure to sit and talk with Tom at the Harty farm on a few occasions. I just loved hearing about some of his hiking adventures and travels, such an interesting guy. He also told me the story of how he met his second wife, and how he was a lucky man to have found love again. You could just feel the love he had for Joanna, and how she meant the world to him. It was true love. To the Harty family, my deepest sympathy - Rest in Peace Tom -May God Bless you~ and your family.
