Shortly before his illness, Tom completed a book he had been working on for 27 years, "Fleet Wings of Fame". It was the story of the winner of the $25,000 Dole race to Hawaii in 1927.
Tom liked to tell stories. That is the way he saw history. He loved U.S. history. He graced all of us with his Christmas and seasonal letters. All his letters contained stories of interesting people, some from history and some from today.
