Not sure what to say?

To the Thorpe family, I just learned of the Judge's passing today. I had the privilege of serving in his court twice, the 2nd time as the chief prosecutor of his court in the very early 80's. He was a thoroughly decent and honest man who treated everyone fairly. Dallas county was fortunate to have him.

Mrs. Thorpe and Family...I am so sorry for the loss of Judge Thorpe. You were both such good friends of my parents, T.L. and Clara Baker. We shared many laughs about Daddy's time as his bailiff and the friendship you had with my parents was a treasure. My prayers are with you as you walk this new path. Much love to you...Jane Baker Alford

Judge Thorpe was an outstanding Judge and a true gentleman. I have served as Judge for almost 2 terms for the 203rd. Judge Thorpe left some giant steps to follow. I visited with him about 1 year ago when he came by the 203rd to see if I was running an efficient court. He gave me some advise and complimented me. Of all the Judges I have known, he still remains by far the Most Professional. God Bless his soul & God please take care of his family & all of his loving friends.

Judge Thorpe was my lawyer in a Federal lawsuit filed against the City of Dallas in the early 70's. Not only was he a brilliant lawyer, but he was a kind caring man. He will be missed.

To Judge Thorpe's family:

Judge Thorpe taught me the importance of every detail when practicing law. He was an exacting but gentle teacher. He will be greatly missed - his wisdom lives on through all those he mentored.

To Judge Thorpe's Family: Judge Thorpe was a true gentleman and legal scholar. He will be missed by many layers, myself included. My condolences to you and your family.

I'm so very sad. I appeared before him on several matters, and he took it on himself to educate the appellate lawyer. We shared a love of Patrick O'Brian's novels.
