Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to Tencha, Michael, Gil and Cindy. I was deeply saddened to read about the death of Gil. Our families were close friends back in the days. We were stationed at the same places in the early and late 60's. (Ft. Bragg and then later in Panama). My father also retired in 1971. My parents were Dino and Lina Hernandez. (It was only a chance that I happen to find this). Please keep in touch. Email: [email protected]

May the peace of the lord be with Gil and his family.

John, Jo and Family Penrod

On behalf of my family and myself I would like to offer our condolences for your loss. I was out of town last week, and sorry I missed Gil's memorial. He is in a better place now, one without pain and suffering. I will keep you my prayers, and will always charish the memories I have experienced with Gil when we worked together at the City of Vista.

Our deepest condolences to the Apodaca family. We are friends of Michael and had the pleasure of spending an afternoon watching Raider football a couple of years ago at the Apodaca home. The second we walked into the house, we felt at home. What a beautiful family. We enjoyed good food, lots of laughs and left feeling like part of the family. May the memories get you through this time. Our heart aches for your loss.

My name is Frances Flores -Cruz I don't know if the family remembers me but I remember the family from when we lived in Montclair in Fayetteville, N.C. My parents Frank Flores and my mom Gloria Flores- Beswick were good friends with Tencha and Gil, I was so sorry to hear of your lost and wish you all peace at this time ..Looking at this picture of him reminds me of better times of my childhood ..I also saw that he worked for the City of Vista how small the world really is I do alot of work...

Gil made me laugh. The family makes me feel like one of their own. I will always love the Apodaca family and I'm there for you now and always. Gil, when you play golf with my Dad in heaven, just know that he cheats.

We have not seen him awhile, but the Armstrong family remembers his stories and jokes . Also Tencha saying "Oh Gil" after his jokes!! We know he was proud of each any everyone one of his kids and grandchildren. We were lucky enough to spend one Christmas Eve with the Apodaca family.Lots of laughs and great tamales. May the love of friends and family carry you through your sorrow.

My heart has been heavy since I heard of Uncle Gil's passing. I will carry his laugh and silly faces in my memory forever. He could always make me laugh. The house on Olive Drive was always somewhere that felt like home and he was always there to say "Hi Mija". Tia Tencha, Michael, Cindy and Gil, I am so so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to say goodbye. I will miss you Uncle Gil but I am comforted knowing that you are reunited with your loved ones we have had to say goodbye to...

May God bless you all during this difficult time. I'll always remember the great times I shared with you all.
