Not sure what to say?

As a Mother who lost her 28 year old son nearly two years ago I know only too painfully how difficult it will be for Tim Hetherington's family. God speed to Tim who by all accounts was a compassionate and courageous man. The world lost a brave soul and Tim's Mother lost a beloved son and for that I am truly sorry.

From someone who never met your son, he was such an inspiration to me. He had a unique light and vision, I like to think he was an extraordinary human on this Earth. I am so sorry he is gone. I send my thoughts, condolences and prayers. You must be extraordinary parents.

When a parent dies you loose your past. When a child dies you loose your future. Judith our prayers are with you and your family. Tim was an inspiration. He had so much talent. I know how proud you are. Love always Craig x

Tim was a true artist whose canvas was the world, and his palette, the colors of the all emotions of humanity. He captured our hearts and minds with his craft and shone light in dark places in the world. He is missed greatly by all of us who were touched profoundly by his work. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Tim,as i look back at the very first time we met on the plane,on my way home(Liberia) as it was your first trip there.the brotherhood that was [email protected] that moment, getting to know your hotel would be just a few yards from my apartment, meeting you a few days later when everyone was taking cover, while the city of Monrovia was being heavily shelled by Forces of former rebel Leader Charles Taylor, visiting me at home, visiting u at Palm Hotel on Broad Street with my kids and having dinner...

Our heartfelt sympathies to all of Tim's family and friends around the world. We met Tim only briefly when attending a screening of "Restrepo" in Albany NY last summer. Our granddaughter's husband was at Outpost Restrepo when Tim and Sabastian embedded themselves with his platoon.
With just that one encounter with this man, you could tell he was passionate about his work and loved doing what he did.
Tim will be missed by many, but never forgotten.

Tim, your vision and work changed my life. You showed me the importance of truth and being real, i will keep seeking this in everything. Thank you! Hope to shake your hand in heaven one day. Zelna Jooste ( South Africa)
