Timothy W. McCarter age 54, died unexpectedly at his home on June 21, 2011. Tim was born on November 14, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio; the son of Charles W. and H. Jeanne McCarter. Timothy received his primary education in Cleveland, Ohio, his Associate's Degree with honors from Kellogg Community College and his Bachelors Degree in Human Relations and Development from Oakland University. Mr. McCarter was a self-employed entrepreneur, consultant and strategic planner. His company, Timely Intellectual Marketing Specialist (TIMS) consulted with DTE Energy in Detroit since 1994 under the name "Show Me Quick". Tim enjoyed the theater and was a member of the Eastside Community Theater. He also enjoyed gardening, home improvement, the arts (writing and directing), playing piano, hockey, swimming and vacationing. Tim was successful at nearly everything he attempted. He will be remembered as an intelligent, people person who was generous, helpful and a good friend to anyone he met. Tim is survived by his loving partner, Robert L. Green, Rob's son Robert L. Green II; his father Charles W. McCarter; siblings John McCarter, Margaret Schicker, Kathleen Carlson (Marty) and Dorothy Kaiser (Dan); Rob's mother, Mary Green; Rob's siblings, Patricia Davis, Willie Green, Roger Green, Melinda Turner (Kenneth), Betty Green and Gloria Ford (Demetrius); his godson, Matthew Schicker and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. A memorial service to celebrate Tim's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. Sr. Carol Juhasz, Pastoral Associate from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church will officiate. There will be visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:00 o'clock. Memorials may be sent to the Girl Scouts, Heart of Michigan Council; 601 West Maple; Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
