Not sure what to say?

Oh wow-I had NO idea that Toby was no longer with us, let alone for all these years! This hurts me bad! Toby was in my life over a few different junctures in my life, many years ago and I have been thinking of him a lot lately. That´s why I made this Google search. RIP, doll! I´m sure you now know the very unique and magical way you impacted my heart and mind. Please come down for me when my time finally comes!

Sorry for your loss.. I didn't know Tobias, I just recently watched collectors the documentary and learned about who Tobias and Rick both were and I know that had we met, we would have been the best of friends.. I was searching for him to see how heard it would be to get in touch with him and seen the posts about his death and it shocked me, a person who didn't even know him.. Anyways sorry for your loss.. Truly.

To Toby's parents and siblings,
Ironically, I've never met or even spoken with any of you. Silly perhaps, in hindsight...

Tobias came to stay with us during early May, years ago in Baton Rouge, LA. I'd invited him down after he had contacted me about promoting one of those dreadful art shows!

A fellow collector and equally as enthusiastic as I was back then, we became instant friends - literally.

I consider him a "little brother," as well as one of my best...

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. Knowing that Toby had such a widespread group of friends helps our family process through this huge loss.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss, and my heart goes out to you. I worked with Toby at Goodwill, and he was a really cool person. He used to get on the PA to make announcements about our daily specials and would always put his own unique twist on it to make it more amusing for everyone. Since we both smoked, we would often take our breaks at the same time, and we would sit outside and have interesting discussions about philosophy, art, human nature, psychology, you name it. He was...

Toby,
From the first time I saw you running around the pool at the house in Bellevue as a little boy you had a real sense of adventure. You had a bright and trouble life but pushed through. You were a real wonderful Uncle to my two girls Nicole and Sami and have always held a special place in my heart. From the trip to help us move to California when Gram Lila tried to get the dreds out of your hair to the man you became. Fly free Toby and remember now your wings will take you soaring to...

Nothing more would make me more happy than to choose from yer "Selection of Sympathy Expressions"...However, that is not going to happen.
On Sunday, August 26, Toby called a few times inviting me over to Jon's place. So I went.
We spent the afternoon drinking a few beers, smoking a few cigarettes, and watching the Sunday Afternoon Movie on local TV.
Many, many times, we laughed hystericaly, the movie being "Dick", about 2 teen girls who unknowingly instigate the Watergate...

My deepest sympathies are with you, Toby's family.

Through the past twenty years I have heard wonderful stories about Toby from my son, Malcolm. I know that the two young men shared a treasured friendship, through the good times, as well as the not so good times.

I had the pleasure of meeting Toby on a few occasions, and remember his gracious manner and humor, and yes, his wonderful golden hair!

Life is not easy for those favored few who are so creative, those who have...
