Travis Vaughn "Pop" Tidwell

To the Travis Tidwell family: I never knew this fellow, but remember clearly that he was one of the greatest football players Auburn ever had. I was about 12 years old when he starred and many of us in little Murfreesboro, Tennessee would play sandlot games and one kid quarterback would yell out, "I'm Travis Tidwell" while the other might pretend that he was Harry Gilmer of Alabama.
Ironically, those two from the same state seemed to be about the best two quarterbacks in the whole...
