Not sure what to say?

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

I met Valerie Scanlan at her first Rio Rico Rotary meeting in September of 1989 – she joined the same day I did.
More than two decades later, my first impression of her remains – quick to smile and even quicker to laugh. Her passion for the community, and for making it better, led Valerie to Rotary. And any work the club did or fun that we had, she multiplied. Eager to make a difference, she became the first female president of Rio Rico Rotary in 1992 – five years after Rotary opened up...

Very special lady! Who could not love that big smile?
With her warm voice, and laughter she would hold us captive with her wonderful travel stories. Val and Denny worked very hard for our Bounder Club..this dynamic duel were unstoppable! I am so sorry to know she has work to do elsewhere. So sorry for the lose of Val. With love and prayers to Denny, family and friends.

Oh Val! I learned so much from you and your positive attitude and bright smile will be something I always cherish. I will miss you dearly.

I had the opportunity to meet Val and Denny, I believe in the late 1970s shortly after they moved to Tubac from Long Beach. Although I didn't interact with them very much over the years, I always considered both as friends. I am saddened to here of Valerie's passing and can only imagine Denny's sorrow in losing such a wonderful wife, friend, and life companion. Both Denny and Val are in my prayers. Tom Sauser, Rio Rico.

I had the opportunity to know Val through her husband Denny and her wonderful friend Feliz. Her ever-positive attitude in the face of what some would consider great adversity was inspiring. She was always, "doing just fine". What an inspiration!

Rest in peace Val. You accomplished much in this life and your memory will inspire many.
