Not sure what to say?

I worked for Doc for 5 years taking care of his outside cattle, we had a lot of fun at each others expense. He was instrumental in me going back to school and getting teacher certified. I learned alot from Doc and he was a true friend. I will always miss him. Just to show Doc and Lois did what ever they wanted. When I got married, they came in the door the same time as me and my bride to be. They said, "Gale we are crashing your wedding."

We have very fond memories of Doc and Lois spending time at Coyote Lake Feedyard. These were sometimes just visits, as well as lunch at Lela’s Mexican food restaurant in Muleshoe, and the yearly feedyard Christmas party. He and the owners, Bo Brown and E. W. Williams were friends and had a work/cattle feeding relationship for lots of years. This friendship lasted after Doc’s retirement from his veterinarian practice and from his cattle feeding. He will always be remembered fondly. Also...

Coyote Lake Feedyard became Doc’s home away from home. We have many memories of him and Lois visiting around the lunch table at the office and having them join in at the Christmas Party year after year. Doc will always be remembered. We will miss talking to him about Olton, Muleshoe, and Tyler as well as his many experiences. Charles E. “Shuck” Donnell

Van always had an interesting story to tell and enjoyed hosting family at his house in Olton for reunions. He was definitely a character. Thoughts and prayers for the family during this difficult time.
