HORN-Vera Weller, age 67, a cancer survivor for 10 years, succumbed to pancreatic cancer on November 27th. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Clarence Hare of Sidney, NE. She is survived by her husband, Dwain Horn, 3 children and spouses, Charles and Linda Weller, Jayne and Mark Anderson and Michael Weller and 6 grandchildren, Christy, Katy, Matt and Dan Weller, and Ben and Paul Anderson. She also leaves 3 step-children, Randy Horn, Brian Horn and Susan Pedersen, along with 8 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Carol Macrone, Agnes Weller, Susan Condon; 2 brothers, James and Lowell Hare; plus 15 nieces and nephews. Vera was a very loving and generous person. After a successful career in real estate, she volunteered for several organizations, such as Assistance League of Omaha, and gave freely of her time and talents to numerous charity events. Her ultimate gift is her body, which was given to one of the local medical schools. Her favorite activities were to entertain family and friends, play bridge and golf. She and Dwain spent the last several winters in Arizona, where she leaves a large group of dear friends.
Her life will be celebrated at a remembrance and visitation with family at the Countryside Community Church, 87th and Pacific, starting at 4:00 pm on Friday evening, November 30th. Her death will be commemorated at a memorial mass at Christ the King Catholic Church on Sat. December 1, starting at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ the King Catholic Church, Countryside Community Church or Assistance League of Omaha.

We will miss Vera very much. She was a uniquely caring person who always tried to influence the lives she touched in a positive way, even when knowing her fate. Hers was a great example for the rest of us, for we all know our eventual fate. Our sympathies to Dwain and the family.
