Not sure what to say?

I have been very impressed with his work to promote the common good in the Twin Cities. I am amazed at his legacy in helping to create the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities. I wish I could have met him and learned more about his civic service and how his faith informed it.

Ron, saddened to hear the news about your dad. Reading about his passion and drive for life, I see where you got it from:

Our prayers to you and your family.

Johnson Family,
We are sending thoughts and prayers of serenity and peace your way. As we journey through life so many have been blessed by your wonderful presence. This is the beautiful legacy of a man who compared so well, but humbly understood these blessings as an opportunity to shine the light for others.
Love Always,

I worked with Verne at Venture Academy. His leadership will continue to inspire another generation of citizens. My prayers are with his family during this time of grieving.

Verne was a great inspiration to me during an important time in my career. His high energy, infectious can-do spirit were a constant witness to his never ending drive "to light a candle rather than curse the darkness." Blessings to his family, friends and all the lives he touched.

The Johnson family has been such a wonderful friendship to my extended family. With the loss of Verne I truly hope they can find comfort in knowing all of us care deeply and in our own way. He was influential in my life personally with his infectious smile and unconditional care and concern about my well-being. May he rest in peace!

Verne was one of a kind. I have known him since the 1940s when I was his teacher in Cloquet, Minnesota. He was a great student and had one of those personalities that was infectious. Our friendship continued on throughout the years as we met in Minnesota or Florida to catch up on family, politics and life in general. I will miss him as he was one great friend. My sympathy and love to his family

Verne; I was so gladdened to be able to say goodbye to you last Friday on our last visit. As I left your room, I said, "May the Lord Bless you and keep you, until we meet again - and I know we will". You replied, "yes, I am sure we will". My much admired older brother, and my special member of "The Greatest Generation". Rest in Peace, until we meet again . . .
