LTC (Ret.) Vernon B. Davis

Martha Jo and I just returned from Texas after attending the death of her
brother Vernon Bethea Davis. I use the term attending because that is exactly
what we did...attend his death. He passed peacefully surrounded by members of the family who were celebrating his life rather than mourning his death. In many
ways it was a uplifting experience.

Make no mistake about it, we were and are sad to continue this life without
Vernon as we are with all our loved...

Sending our love and prayers to our Davis cousins. We wish we could be there to help celebrate Uncle Vernon's life. It is humbling to read about all that he accomplished in life but we know his greatest accomplishment was his family. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Pat will continue to live on through their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

I send my love and warm wishes to the Davis family. I celebrate the life of a wonderful man, my Father-in-law for 20 years and a dear friend. I can not begin to count the many laughs we shared and the heart to heart talks we had. I am so grateful to have had you as my children's grandfather. My deepest sympathy to the entire Davis family. Vernon was a wonderful person that I loved very much. He was a wonderful father in law to me for 20 years and I am blessed by having known him. Long ago in the "backwoods" of what was then the little town of Orlando, FL, I knew Vernon as one of the big brothers of my best friends, Martha Jo and JoAnn Davis. Through them I have, over the years, heard about Vernon's life, career, and family. My sincerest sympathy goes out now to Vernon's loved ones and I pray you will be comforted by many warm memories of his life.
