Vernon Edward Davis, 71, Salisbury, N.C., died March 27, 2007, in his home.

He was the husband of Alice (Kluttz) Davis, whom he married Jan. 12, 1974.

Born Nov. 21, 1935, in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Rose (Wooster) Davis.
