I will miss the phone calls that always started with "Hey, Kid". I worked with Vern at Kroger. He was truly a special person and so very kind. We kept in regular contact even after he retired. Always calling with recipes, prayer requests, news of Dolly and offers to make gospel tapes. I offer my condolences to his family. Please know that Vern touched many lives and will be missed.
