Vince was one of the most influential professors I have ever encountered. He had a profound effect on me as a student, and his course in Philosophy was easily one the best parts of my undergraduate studies for several different reasons.

I am so sad to learn about his passing. Professor Vince Kavaloski was a man full of exuberance and warmth who seldom withheld his love of learning and wealth of knowledge but loved sharing his joy of philosophy and introspection on humanity and common values exemplified thru story or parable. My sympathy and sorrow to Jane and all of Vince's family. I crossed paths with him only a few times at various points in life, at a weekend counseling retreat, at UW Memorial Library, at the little stone cottage near Ridgeway, but each encounter was warm and rewarding and I considered him a friend all my adult life. A light has gone out in the world.
