Not sure what to say?

Mr. Vincent Reed was an extremely wonderful man, and a fantastic teacher at Jefferson Junior High School in S. W., D.C. He was a shop teacher then, and taught so many young male students how to work with their hands. He was the greatest educator I know. Ass't Principal, Dunbar High School. He made certain many got into college. The class of DHS 1969 will never forget him. Thank you to the Reed family for sharing him with us and many more that needed his guidance.

A hero for education regardless of race color, or creed and our success and survival is proof of your leadership!

Condolences to wife, Mrs. Frances Reed, niece, Ms. Ella Redman and the entire family of Dr. Vincent Emory Reed. Dr. Reed was honored as a Legend of Gethsemane Baptist Church in February of this year. I had the pleasure of beginning my teaching career under his amazing leadership as Superintendent of DC Public Schools in mid-1970s. He was truly a gift to the city of Washington, DC.

Such a wonderful man! I will always remember him from Jefferson Jr High as well as The Washington Post! RIP Mr. Reed! You will be missed by many!

My mentor and counselor. Rest in Peace. Jo Ann ("Lee") Mimms -- Jefferson Jr. High School - Class of 1963; Dunbar High School - Class of 1967; Howard University - Class of 1972

He was (and continues to be) a very respected figure in our neighborhood for well over 50 years. Our loss is heaven's gain!

Will be greatly missed my condolences to the family...
