Virginia Sanders Dennis, age 89, departed to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born on June 6, 1926 in Washington County, KY, to Virgil and Ida Satterly Sanders.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Wilbert Dennis, a step granddaughter, Bridgett Hatchett Gibson; three sisters, Allene (Marvin) Warner, (Hubert) Gabbert, Magdalene (Gilbert) Dorsey, and Venetta (Verlin) Isham; three brothers, Pete Sanders, Wallace (Ruth) (Frances) Sanders, and Hollis (Elizabeth) Sanders; a niece, Vicki (Bill) Deufel, and a nephew, Rodney (Doris) Warner.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (Donnie Gene) Hatchett of Springfield and Jane (Douglas) Gash of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Ronnie (Michelle) Guy, Ginny (Jason) Hartley, and Julia Gash; three great grandchildren, Courtney (Jacob) Hagenbuch, Tyler Hartley, Brady Gash; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dennis was a member of the Fairview Christian Church and an avid gardener.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, Sept. 9th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Wells and Bro. Jerry Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Willisburg Cemetery in Washington County, KY. Visitation will be 4 -8 pm Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Jim Warner, Leo Brooks, Scottie Peach, Tommy Warford, Forest Brown, and David Quire. Members of the Senior Ladies Sunday School class at Fairview Christian Church, along with Barbara Peach, Deana Hume, and Betty Barnett will serve as honorary bearers.
Memorials are suggested to the Avenue's for Women, 73 C. Michael Davenport Blvd., Suite #5, Frankfort, KY 40601.
