Tribute to the memory of Waleed from many epic musical moments that began at Both/And when I met you there in 1968. Respect and appreciation for your support for me a newcomer then and continuous brotherly greetings for the many years later. Peace and Love James Leary

Waleed and my husband Orrin Keepnews used to hug a lot at Yoshi's. He made me feel like a member of the Jazz family and I hope he and Orrin are swapping stories up there!
My condolences to his family, I missed the Yoshi's party as it was one month on Sunday since Orrin passed and I'm not up on events.
Waleed was part of the soul of Yoshi's.

I remember our short and sometimes humorous conversations with warmth and love...they needed someone at the gates of the club CT, Duck, Abbey,et al are playing....

Waleed was always a bright moment on the jazz scene. Walk on my friend.

Stuart Kremsky and Janet Rosen remember him fondly from many a jazz event over the years. Always a gentleman. Deepest condolences to his family.
