Not sure what to say?

It has been 8 years since daddy’s passing and the world is still imploding around the hole that his absence left.
May the good works that he has done in this world have his name exalted in the Hereafter.
I wish he had written a guide book for the rest of us on how to do this without him.

I miss you so much. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t kiss your picture in the living room or pray for your guidance. I miss your jokes, your rhymes, your laugh, and combing your mustache when I was a little girl. I miss steak and potato days at the Western Sizzlin’ with you and Grandmama when you would tuck my napkin into my collar just like you did with yours and cut up my steak and make my baked potato for me. I love you, Granddaddy. You will always be the greatest man I’ll ever...

Walter Gough was a good friend and mentor at Tarkio College during the 1960s. Our conversations about race and identity influenced my later doctoral research on racial identity in individuals in interracial families. He would say, "May you be blessed with many children" and I am happy to see that he was blessed with many children and grandchildren, as well as a wonderful wife.
