I remember him being on the roof of his house when he was building it and bringing him a glass of iced tea. Had his 57 T-Bird parked in front which I thought was unbelievably cool.

I remember Walter as the big man with the hearty laugh who lived across the street from my grandparents. I recall his daughter as the "older girl" who, at the time, when I was all of seven years old, I thought looked like a princess. Everyone called her Julie-B. Her father always used to tease me and make me laugh. He still did the last time I saw him when I was in my 30's. I deeply regret not having the opportunity for him to tease me again. Godspeed Mr. Hudson.

Mr. Hudson - I never had the opportunity to meet you, but I heard many stories about you over the years. You gave my step father Henry Lowenthal a love for flight that he passed along to me. Now I am a USMC Harrier pilot with over 2200 hours in the AV-8B, and I don't think I would have gone this route but for the influence you had on the man who raised me. Fair winds, Sir, and Following Seas!

I worked with Walter at TECO. I admired the fact he built an airplane. He was a good person.
