Walter J. Thor, 86, a resident since 1944 of Madison, Wisconsin, an electrician who was a member for 50 years of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 159 of Madison, passed away at Karmenta Center in Madison on Sunday, January 21, 2001. Calling hours are scheduled for Tuesday, January 23, 2001, 4-7 p.m., at Schroeder-Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Avenue, Madison. Vigil services are scheduled for Tuesday, 4 p.m., at the funeral home. Further visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 9:30-10:30 a.m., at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2450 Atwood Avenue, Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the church, officiated by Monsignor Michael E. Hippee. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, Wisconsin.
