Not sure what to say?

Bettielou, I am so sorry about Wayne, I know that you were blessed to find each other and I pray that knowledge will give you comfort in the days to come. You are in my prayers.

Shirley Zahorsky Lane, Siloam Springs, AR

I never had the privilege of meeting Mr. Wayne, but I received the Wayne Lane Scholarship for this year. Based on everything I have learned and heard about Mr. Lane, I know that to receive this gift is an enormous honor.

I only wish I could have shaken his hand. Though we never officially met, he has touched my life and will always be a part of my experience at Northwestern. I only hope that someday people will say the same kind words about me that are said about him and his...

I first met Wayne when I come to Oklahoma to visit my parents, C.H. and Golda Prewett. He taught a Sunday School class with my dad. I always enjoyed his classes.

When my mother died, Wayne spoke at her funeral. His talk was absolutely memorable. I remember it like it was yesterday. He captured the essence of my mother's approach to life in just a few words. I don't think that anybody else, including any of us kids, has ever been able to capture her approach to life like he...

Bettilou, I am indeed saddened by the news, but I am also glad that he is now in direct service to our Lord. Both of you were quite kind to me during my years at Northwestern, and I appreciated seeing you two. I wish that I could have been present for the service, but unfortunately, the distance (over 7,000 miles in Taiwan) could not permit this. May our Lord comfort you, and may you remain strong as you finish the race well like Wayne has done.

Wayne was a fine man and I always liked to see him with his wife and family. He looked so happy. I feel very honored to have been the recipant of the drawing at the Woods County Fairof his book "Nortwestern: A Centennial
History". Rachel had the pleasure of delivering it to me. My daughter immediately Shelley wanted to take it to read.
Wayne will be missed by many.

Our most heartfelt condolences to the family. We pray that you find comfort at this difficult time as you reflect on your wonderful memories together. Mr. Wayne Lane was wonderful to have as a journalism instructor. Anytime I had a question or concern about an assignment, he immediately made time to listen and give advice. Such a wonderful teacher and benevolent spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies for you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

NWOSU lost a great ambassador. Judy and I want to extend our sympathies on the passing of a great husband father and educator.

Bettielou, we want to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the death of Wayne. May God be with all of you.
