Not sure what to say?

Gosh I am so sorry to learn of Welly's passing - my [albeit late] condolences to his family; a wonderful charismatic chap indeed. I only met Welly once, early this year [he did ask me to call him that] when I delivered a jazz CD he purchased from me on TradeMe. Thrilled to receive in such quick time he invited me in & showed me his massive cd collection literally room-after-room. I am presently buying many jazz albums I understand were from this man´s collection and I just want to pass on my appreciation for his great taste, and for the opportunity to have a share of his passion for great music. I wish I´d been able to know him in person. Rather than rest in peace, I hope he is resting to the sounds of miles Davis and John Coltrane.

Dearest Welly, During the 2nd world war you lived with Grandma, then your Mum taught me to sew. Sydney lived with us in London, and I travelled with cousins Chung~gons. Your knowledge in cars helped me with my first sports car. Sorry I could not be present to farewell you, a wonderful person, a life well lived. In Sri Lanka with NZ Rugby under 85kg team. My sincere condolences to Marian and family. Dianne Sia. nee Lowe

I met Welly in Hospital and over the next four weeks we became friends. I kept in touch with Welly mainly by phone after we got out of Hospital. My wife and I visited him at his home and I was impressed by his music collection. I share his love of Blues and Jazz. He was a fine man and I will miss his sense of humour. Sincere condolences to his family.humour
