It has to be over 30 years since my Mom & I picked up Linda´s Avon book that you left @ the gas station on Rudasill and Oracle Road, where you used to get Linda her soda pop every morning. I met Bill in 1991 when he put a cooler on my roof, and yes, he carried it up the ladder, slung over his shoulder all by himself. We talked after that and I think he took a liking to me. He called me later that year to work security for him at the Gem Show. That started a friendship that will never end. We had lots of time to talk and get to know one another as well as our families. I met Bill at the Pima County SO in 1990. He was providing personnel for security on the frontage road tents in Tucson for GL and W. I filled in for one of his deputies that missed a shift. After that, yearly, Bill hired me during the Gem Show and I became a fixture at the Grant Road location. We became good friends and he fixed my furnace when I lived on the East side of DM. During the Gem Show events I would regularly bring him pizza at the Palo Verde location after my shift.....we had...
