William Thomas Barnes, 92, of Fordyce died Friday December 8, 2017 at his home. Born June 3, 1925 at Ivan, he was a son of the late William Bart Barnes and Ruth Summers Barnes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice Steelman Barnes; brother, Doyle Barnes, and daughter-in-law, Lynn Barnes. He is survived by three sons, Larry Barnes and his wife, Debbie of Fordyce, Mike Barnes and his wife, Susan of Benton, Mark Barnes of Fordyce; brother, Homer Dean Barnes of Fordyce; sister, Christine Morgan of Fordyce; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 9, 2017 at Barnes Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net.

My condolences and prayers on the loss of your Dad. One summer I worked for your Dad at Hampton, he was a great boss and I had the upmost respect for him. In the last several years I only talked to Bill a few times, but it was always a pleasure. I will always remember your Dad as a good friend and a good man.

All of Cooterneck, Bucksnort,and Fordyce will miss Mr. Bill as he made his frequent journeys keeping watch over on his community. Praise Jesus for today there is a jubilee going on in Heaven celebrating his homecoming.
