I worked for Bill in the early nineties at the Volvo dealership, and found him to be a very intelligent and kind soul. He had a dry humor about him that took you by surprise, a delightful aspect of his personality. My condolences to the family.

Charles, I just read aboukt Bill Jr. and I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to all the family members. What memories I have about the whole family. Too many to mention. They started on Elm Street in Conway and continued through the years to 3500 North Ocean Blvd. Your mom and dad were like family to me and all of your brothers. Your dad wrote a nice letter on me when I was applying for the job of Postmaster at Murrells Inlet. I still have a copy of that letter. ...

My first cousin and reigning Collins patriarch, Bill was always kind and fair with me and never failed to have me rethinking so many things long taken for granted about history and life in general.
