CROSS, William Roger, 86, of Goochland Va., went to his Heavenly Father on March 30, 2013. He was son of Eunice Madeline and William Wallace Cross. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Elizabeth Cross; brothers, Wallace Cross, Roy Cross; and sister Barbara Bare. He joined the Navy in 1943 and retired as an E-6 Air Traffic Controller in 1964. He was awared the Good Conduct Medal (4th award), Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Asiatic-Pacific, American Theater, Korean Campaign Medals, WWII Victory Medal; United Nations Service Medal, Japanese Occupation Medal. William served his country in WWII at Iwo Jima and other Pacific Islands, Korean and early Vietnam. He was passionate to his Lord, service, family and country. He was a gifted musician and teacher. He is survived by sons, Roger Cross (June), David Cross (Susie); daughters, Dee Rose and Pamela Null (Victor); seven grandchildren, Richard, Robert and Mike Cross, Amber Null, Kimberly Weflen, Victor Null, and Christine Garten; 12 great- grandchildren, that were the light of his life. Remains rest at the Norman Funeral Home, Goochland, Va., where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Central Virginia Assembly of God. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Virginia Assembly of God Building Fund, 5052 Cross Country Road, Mineral, Va. 23117.

My deepest sympathy. I have such great memories of Uncle Bill and all the family that will live on forever. I know how hard it is at this time, but you too will remember the wonderful times and smile at the joy, the laughter Uncle Bill brought to so many. So sorry to hear about the loss of Uncle Bill, he was a very special man. He will be deeply missed.
