Fair winds Coastie, RIP.

It was an honor to serve under Capt Doig. He was a fine officer and gentleman. More importantly, he was a kind man who cared deeply about those around him.

I first met Bill as an Ensign in 1962 on board USCGC Nike (Wpc 112) in Gulfport, MS. Bill was a damn good officer and shipmate. My sincere condolences to you Ruby. Rest in peace my friend. May you have have fair winds and following seas.
