William "Bill" Fichter

William "Bill" Fichter, 78, of Massillon, Ohio, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, an assistant superintendent for 32 years at City of Massillon Waste Water Treatment Plant before his retirement in 1985, died at his residence on Wednesday, April 24, 2002, following a brief illness. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2002, 7-9 p.m., at Heitger Funeral Services Massillon Chapel, 639 First Street Northeast, Massillon. Scripture services are scheduled for Friday evening, at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m., at St. Barbara Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Thomas Cebula. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery, Tuscarawas Township, Ohio. Memorial donations are appreciated to Community Hospice, 325 Third Street SE, Massillon, OH 44646.
