I am so saddened to hear that my teacher, mentor and friend has passed. He was a great inspiration to me musically and a fine role model - able to lead a successful life in two professions. I will greatly miss our talks. My most sincere condolences to the Foster family. -- Jake Keller, former flute student.

I studied under Mr. Foster's watchful eye during my high school years, 1980-82, when he and Mrs Foster lived on Philadelphia Dr. He was a delightful man and a tremendous musician. I have him to thank for much of my skills and accomplishments. I also enjoyed hearing about his travels, especially his travels to Austria and Germany. Sending prayers of comfort for the family.

Mr. Foster taught me to play the flute and play it well. I owe it all to him and will be forever grateful. I studied flute with him for 10 years. So sorry to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed by many. RIP Bill; play with the Angels now. Thank you for being a wonderful role model.
