William Stanislaus Hoffman III

I worked with Bill for several years at SBN in Cleveland. He taught me so much every day. Knowing him was a gift.

We were very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a very nice neighbor, loved walking around the grounds of our complex and we miss seeing him and catching up. RIP Bill, sincere condolences to your family.

I was greatly saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Over the years, as a result of his great interest in the IRS and its impact on taxpayers, we became good friends and kept in touch even after my term as Commissioner ended. Like many who came to know and appreciate his good work and his wonderful personality, I will miss him and our meetings and discussions. My condolences and best wishes to his family in this difficult time.

I worked with Bill at Tax Notes for six years. He was a consummate reporter -- dogged, sharp, an expert on his beat -- and he set the bar high for the rest of the news team by his example. He is dearly missed!
