Not sure what to say?

Dear Christina, I´ve been remiss in not writing sooner, but the holidays bring home losses so profoundly, and I wanted to share these eight "tiny" condolences in the hope that they may help alleviate the sense of grief during this season of celebration. Sending thoughts and prayers for you, Alex, and your family and friends, on behalf of my family ... and also the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association, for which you generously served as President. Trying to find just the right words to share about someone I have known and worked with since 1990 is difficult. Bill was authentic, sincere and passionate, qualities I admired and at times, was even a little envious of. His character and integrity were foundations of his professional and personal life; a life fully lived and embraced. Truly a modern day Renaissance Man. My most heartfelt of condolences go out to Christina, Alex and Colin for your loss.

Shannon and I are so saddened by the physical loss of Bill. We do not want to speak in past tense because Bill will always be part of all of us. Bill and Cristina formed a wonderful marriage – and their beautiful daughter Alex will always be a perfect reflection of their love and partnership. From providing scholarships to ensuring that all students could go on a class trip to New York – and innumerable acts of kindness in between – Bill and Cristina have always been there. I am so sorry that...

Bill left us with memories that will last for many lifetimes. We will cherish that sip of fine wine from just the right glass, delight and share in delicious food, and laugh and enjoy rich friendships and conversations in memory of Bill. I have never known a more authentic human living a beautifully inspired life. His restaurant list is second to none (especially the Chronicle) and will influence many dining experiences for years to come. Rest in peace my friend. Tom Young

My family and I are so incredibly sad about Bill´s passing. When I close my eyes, I can still hear his boisterous laugh, and I can feel the warmth of his amazing smile that filled every room with energy and light. Bill always brought joy to my family and to me personally. He was such a supporter of my daughter, which she desperately needed as she was growing up. Despite not winning a single game when Bill coached the soccer team this his daughter and my daughter played on, we all...

Dear Cristina and Alex, It is impossible to think that Bill has been taken so suddenly. You were the perfect team. As a member of the board of Phi Beta Kappa of Greater Houston with you for so many years I fondly remember your family´s enthusiasm for the newly formed Cristo Rey school. In no small part due to yours and Bill´s advocacy look at it now! My deepest condolences and prayers for God´s peace.
