Woody and Ann Fullwood
Mt. Pleasant, UT
Leroy Woody Fullwood and Dorotha Ann (Price) Fullwood left this world together on December 30, 2011 in Mt. Pleasant Utah.
Woody (Leroy) was born on October 4, 1941 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Lewis Oliver and Josie Varnum Fullwood. He grew up in Southport working on and enjoying the ocean. He grew up in a large family always surrounded by his brothers and his sister. He joined the US Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, including performing several tours of duty on the USS Kittyhawk. He married Dorotha Ann Price on August 2, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada and made their first home in San Diego, California. Upon honourable discharge from the military, they moved to Utah and made their home in Sandy. He graduated from Utah Technical College and was the owner/operator of hair salons in Sandy where he enjoyed getting to know thousands of people over the years. He was a convert to the LDS church and enjoyed many callings in the church, especially the time he spent working with the youth and his service in the Manti temple. He had a very strong testimony of the gospel and demonstrated his beliefs in the way he cared for his family. He will be remembered for never letting any visitor to his home go hungry; he especially enjoyed cooking breakfast for his family and friends. He was a wonderful dad who took every opportunity to tell his wife, children and grandchildren how much he loved them.
Ann (Dorotha) was born on March 22, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Russell Lloyd and Dorothy Hanson Price. She grew up in Salt Lake City and spent several summers in Payson as a teenager. She was part of a large extended family that cared deeply for each other. She graduated from Granite High School, attended Utah State University and then took off for an adventure moving to Honolulu, Hawaii and then to San Diego, California where she met her husband Woody. She and Woody settled in Sandy, Utah where their three children were born and raised. They were sealed together as a family in the Salt Lake LDS temple on August 2, 1979. Ann returned to school later in life graduating from the University of Utah with a certification in special education. She taught severe special education at multiple schools but mainly at Jordan Valley School and Hillcrest High School. Her students loved her and she loved them. She retired from Jordan School District in 2004. She was a life-long and faithful member of the LDS church and taught her children to appreciate differences and to love others. She dedicated her life to her family and was a foundation of support to her family and friends.
Woody and Ann moved to West Jordan, Utah after their children were raised. They later retired to Mt. Pleasant, Utah and enjoyed traveling (especially in winter) to spend their time in warmer places. They loved and were loved by their neighbors wherever they lived.
Woody and Ann are survived by their children: Charlotte Ann (Gregory) Stewart of Mt. Pleasant, Lisa Marie (Duane) Boman of Taylorsville and Michael Lee (Brandee) Fullwood of Sandy, their eleven grandchildren and their brothers and sisters: Russell Dale (Karen) Price of Bountiful, UT, Linda Marie (Walter) Sullivan of Lafayette, NJ, Mary Elizabeth (David) Oeschger of Gulfport, MS, Marvin (Altburg Marie) Fullwood of Southport, NC, Leon (Edie) Fullwood of Southport, NC and Joseph Fullwood of Southport, NC. I just want your family to know how much I loved working for Woody. He is very dear to my heart. You have such great parents. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was a peer tutor in Ann Fullwood's special education class in my senior year at Hillcrest High in 1998. I want you to know that she was so inspiring with how she taught her students, that right then and there, I decided that I wanted to be a special ed teacher. I did in fact become one, thanks to her amazing example. I have since taught special classes in the Granite School District for 10 years thus far. Thank you to Mrs. Fullwood for her quiet guidance in my career path. (She knew me as...

Dear Fullwood Family, I went to college with Ann and we became friends with cousins in common, we shared Glen Hanson' family. It started off a great friendship, I was Ann's partner in adventure in Calif. it was fun and memorable for me it changed my life as I met my husband at that time. We didn't meet up that often in the following years but I always remember her. The Sat funeral servce reminded me of how great she was and what one person can do and when they are partnered wth another great...
