I remember talking to Xen about his upcoming retirement. I felt, and he expressed, he was sorry to let his profession slip away but that a new life was to ensue. In retirement he was a man reborn without the burden of the chosen profession. He seemed happy and carefree. Absolutely GOOD FOR HIM. I have felt the same way.
He was a fine doctor, a good person and friend. I will retain the good memories.

My father, Herb Jackson, owned North Main Gulf several years ago.. Somehow, he and Dr. Skufis met, as his office was not far from the gas station.
He became our family physician and was until he retired from his practice. He delivered 2 of my 3 children. He was a great doctor. My dad always considered him a friend, until he passed away in 1982.
I am sorry for the great loss to your family.

Dr. Skufis was our family doctor for many years. We were sorry when he left family practice and wished we could have had him continue being our family doctor all the years that followed. He was excellent as a doctor and as a friend. Our condolences to his family.
